Mahi Mahi Dive Resort has beachfront location on faced to Apo Island with own black sand beach, tropical garden and magnificent palm trees! Our Swimming Pool has 3 m deep (good for dive courses) and uses Salt Chlorinators, are an alternative technique of pool sanitizing with chlorine using the process of electrolysis. The electrolysis process is achieved by passing the salt water solution through an electrolytic cell which converts sodium chloride (salt) in the water into chlorine gas which, when dissolved in water become sodium hypochlorite (liquid chlorine).
A black sand beach looks exotic, doesn't it? The sand is black because it has many dark-colored volcanic minerals and rocks from cool down lava. Well – loved as a diving site in the Philippines, Zamboanguita boasts of its black beach as well, whose black sand that consists of tiny fragments of basalt, came from Talinis Volcano. Black sand contains high concentrations of micronutrients necessary for growth. Chemical analysis of the local sand showed 40,7% of ferric oxide, 5,3% of magnesium oxide and 4,8% of potassium oxide! Thus, scuba divers and photographers, flock to Zamboanguita – truly a paradise for a lot of marine species. Swim with awesome blue ringed octopus, flamboyant cuttlefishes, frog fish, nudibranchs … and many more!
